Sadler's Wells announce Flamenco Festival London 2012 programme - tickets available

In the depths of a bitter London winter, Sadler's Wells will once again be offering dance fans a warm southern Mediterranean embrace with its annual flamenco festival.
Held between 7th and 19th February, the Flamenco Festival London 2012 will enhance further its reputation for showcasing some of the best in flamenco. The festival has become an eagerly anticipated fixture in the capital's dance calendar, with the Independent commenting that "Sadler's Wells has struck gold with its annual season of flamenco".

Latin Grammy Award-winning is considered one of the most accomplished flamenco guitarists of his generation, winning many of Spain's most prestigious music awards and building a reputation for innovation and collaboration with non-flamenco artists. Tuesday 7th February.
In a four-decade career, gypsy flamenco dancer has become famous for her unrivalled natural instinct. She returns to London to present 'Suspiro Flamenco' - flamenco in its purest, simplest and most powerful form. Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th February.
is one of the most versatile flamenco dancers performing today; her work spanning traditional flamenco through to contemporary and Spanish classical dance. Pericet combines demanding technique, different dance styles and jaw-dropping athleticism. Friday 10th February.
- Flamenco Gala. To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Federico García Lorca's death, a host of stars from the world of flamenco, led by Rafaela Carrasco, come together in a very special gala to pay tribute to the great poet and dramatist. Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February.
The leading flamenco guitarist and his quintet will be joined by Carmen Cortés, a gypsy dancer renowned for her performances of flamenco 'puro', who (Spanish newspaper) El País called "One of the greatest flamenco dancers of our time". Monday 13th February.
Compañía Antonio Gades
Famous for his flamenco-based versions of 'Blood Wedding' and 'Carmen', the work of the late Antonio Gades never fails to deliver. This year, his company perform his folk-dance-drama interpretation of Lope de Vega's play, 'Fuenteovejuna'. Tuesday 14th to Thursday 16th February.
Rafael Amargo's shows infuse flamenco with other choreographic trends, creating beautiful contemporary dance. A true multimedia extravaganza evoking the time, place and culture in which it was written, 'Poet in New York' is based on a poem by Federico García Lorca. Friday 17th and Saturday 18th February.
Famous flamenco cantaor returns to Sadler's Wells for the first time since 2003 with 'Nuevo Amanecer' (New Dawn), a special evening that includes all of Mercé's biggest hits from a 15-year career that has seen him sell over half a million albums. Sunday 19th February.
