This week's new on-sales are jam-packed with established names in the shape of Barry Manilow, Snow Patrol and Mark Lanegan, as well as a stream of upcoming bands with a point to prove such as The Maccabees and Two Door Cinema Club who will be headlining next year's NME Awards Tour. News of a huge NYE show at the O2 Arena in London, starring Kasabian no less, should help you make up your mind what to do on 31st December.
Finally, if you were one of the lucky punters who witnessed Tom Chambers dance his way through the new touring production of Irving Berlin's "Top Hat" recently, then you might be tempted to book tickets for the 2012 West End residency, confirmed this week.

These new 'Fallen Empires' 2012 shows will follow on from the previously-announced Dublin and Belfast shows (all sold out except the Dublin show on 20th January) and start in Glasgow on 27th January, followed by Aberdeen, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester and the usual biggies until London's O2 Arena on 10th February. Support for all of the new dates comes from Everything Everything.
This year's tour stars Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy, Tribes and Azealia Banks and starts on 8th February in Glasgow, followed by Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham etc until the closing shows in Brighton and Brixton - that last one is on the 25th.
A new album entitled "Given to the Wild" gets a release early next year, just prior to this 2012 tour where currently the opening show is in Glasgow on 23rd January, followed by Newcastle (24th), Brixton (26th), Birmingham (27th) and Manchester (28th), priced at £15 (£17.50 for London).
As part of a European tour, Lanegan will be stopping off in the UK and Ireland with full band, beginning with Bristol on 4th March, followed by Manchester, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and finally, on 13th March, Shepherd's Bush Empire. Tickets will go on sale Monday, all priced at around £17 (more for London).
Two hugely-popular bands have been confirmed for next year's Jägermeister Music Tour 2012 and they are headliners Skindred and co-conspirators, Therapy?. Leeds on 10th April, followed by Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Bristol will all host the shows, all priced at £5 (FIVE pounds).
Award-winning biopic about opera-singer Maria Callas that has taken Broadway by storm, it stars Tyne Daly (she of Cagney & Lacey fame) as the troubled star. The Vaudeville Theatre in London will host the production from 21st Jan until 28th Apr - prices start at £12.50, rising to as much as £65 for top seats. On sale now.
Irving Berlin's classic musical (made into a film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers) has proven to be a smash-hit on tour - now it's set for its West End debut in 2012, performing at the Aldwych from 19th April until 2013. On sale from Saturday at 10am.
Also on sale this week are shows for Van Morrison (Belfast - 3rd Feb), The Wombats (Portsmouth and Coventry in Feb), The Presidents of the United States of America (short UK tour in March), The Civil Wars (UK tour), Eagles of Death Metal's frontman Jesse Hughes' new Boots Electric project (tour) and the exciting new spring/summer season for the London Coliseum including Dr Dee, Caligula [opera] and Anthony Minghella's Madam Butterfly.
