Jingle all the way - tickets and dates revealed for the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball 2011

Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball

Deck the halls with boughs of fake holly, roast your chili-coated nuts on an open fire and have yourself a merry heavily-subsidized Christmas - it's time to wipe that cynical smile off your face and think about what your kids might want from Santa Claus, this year.

One idea might be an early December concert ticket, guaranteed to get them out of the house and keep them out of trouble for a day in the run-up to the festive season and New Year. Here's one big suggestion... (and of course, you'll need to accompany the under-14s!).

Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball is a guaranteed sell-out every year and on checking the line-ups in recent years, it's not hard to see why. 2008: Will Young, Pussycat Dolls, Boyzone. 2009: Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, JLS. 2010: expanded to two days and featured The Script, Cee-Lo Green, Kylie Minogue. You get the picture - if Haribo did music festivals, they'd be like this - fizzing with brightly-coloured performers and wide-eyed pop.

This year's show continues as a two-day spectacular at the O2 Arena in London's North Greenwich, with the line-up gradually being announced daily, until the moment the tickets go on sale - which for the opening event (Saturday 3rd Dec) is Monday 31st October at 8am - that's 8 in the morning! And first name out of the bag is: Olly Murs, who has been confirmed to play the Saturday. Joining him on the opening day will be: Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Pixie Lott, The Wanted, Jason Derülo and Labrinth.

Prices will start at £45 for each day, rising to the astronomical heights of £299! We imagine you get to go to dinner with the headlining acts for that sort of money.

In between those values, you can invest in two different packages, a blue and a platinum, both with varying degrees of VIPness - the blue one involves pre-show food and drinks, fast-track entry, reserved seating, programme and after-show bar-access, the platinum option includes similar, but with an added 3-course meal beforehand. These cost upwards of £195 to £240.

Tickets for the Sunday 4th December event will go on sale next Monday (7th November), also at 8AM.

Update: Saturday tickets now sold out

As soon as Rihanna's name was added to the list, the tickets sold out in record time. BUT - you still have Sunday's show to get tickets for - these go on sale next Monday - line-up to be confirmed and prices start at £45/£55.
