Jesus Jones forced to postpone both November 2011 UK comeback shows

Fans of Jesus Jones (me included) will be bitterly disappointed to learn that the band have had to put their comeback shows on hold, due to a serious injury to band-member Al Doughty. Details are sketchy but the unfortunate bassist appears to have experienced an accident at his home, resulting in emergency surgery.

An official statement from the reformed band's frontman Mike Edwards says:

Although Al's recovering he's still in a lot of pain. There's no way he can travel and play right now. It's been a tough decision to postpone the dates because we realise that people have been looking forward to the shows - we have too. We hope it doesn't mess people's plans up too much and can't wait to play these shows as soon as Alan is OK again.

So, the message is: keep those original tickets for Birmingham (now taking place on 27th Jan) and Islington (now taking place on 28th Jan). The band have also hinted at playing a full tour in 2012.

Let's hope that poor Al didn't have an accident with a Liquidizer (awful Jesus Jones pun intended) and that he gets well soon.
