Kina Grannis announces 2012 UK tour - tickets Thursday 27th October

For aspiring musicians, the internet is the modern equivalent of the head of A&R at EMI dropping in to the Bull's Head on a Tuesday night to see your open mic set. It is a sea of opportunity on which fortunes are made and hopes dashed.
Every singer-songwriter who uploads their music to YouTube does so with the same hopeful enthusiasm that someone will see it and see their raw talent. They will get millions of hits. There will be a voicemail from a label that sounds like a friend putting on a silly voice. Then they're performing in the half time show at the Super Bowl and, and then... and then Buddy Holly flies in, riding a jet-powered steam iron and it's all a dream.
But not for Kina Grannis. Her video for 'Message For Your Heart', uploaded in 2007, has accrued around 55 million views. The same song aired during the Super Bowl half time commercial break, watched by an estimated 97 million viewers, following Grannis' success in the 2008 Crash the Super Bowl competition.
Her debut full-length album, 'Stairwells', a reference to the campus stairways of the University of Southern California where she would hide away and write her songs, was released in February 2010 reaching No 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and No 18 on the indie chart. Following the success of 'Stairwells', the singer-songwriter embarked on her first world tour, the World in Front of Me Tour, in April 2011.
Kina Grannis' UK tour begins in Glasgow 2nd February, followed by gigs in Manchester, Norwich, Birmingham and Bristol, before the final show of the tour in London at the Union Chapel in Islington on 9th February.
We will have tickets when they go on sale at 9AM on Thursday 27th October 2011, priced £12.50 for London and £10 for all other dates. Expect high demand - Kina's debut UK shows (three London dates earlier this month) all sold out very quickly.
Ahead of the UK shows, Kina Grannis is appearing in Dublin on 1st February; tickets are €14.50.
