Camden Crawl 2012 - Early Bird tickets on sale 26th October

Posted: 12 years ago

With the main 2011 festival season now over, thoughts quickly turn to next year. The major, 100,000-people-in-a-field dos may have already launched their ticketing processes but the other festivals, the proper, fun, have-to-be-there events, are just warming-up.

One such fixture is the annual Camden Crawl. Restored in 2005 after three glorious years at the height of Britpop, the refreshed Crawl looks like it is here to stay and the 2012 dates have been confirmed as Friday 4th to Sunday 6th May.

The 2012 Camden Crawl programme will feature more than 250 of the year's hottest music talents from the UK and abroad across Camden Town's historic pubs and venues. Since its 2005 renaissance, the Crawl has hosted sets from The Guillemots, Razorlight, Plan B, Kasabian, The XX, The Fall, Florence & the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Adele, The Charlatans and dozens more top names.

In addition to the music there is an extensive daytime arts programme of comedy, storytelling & spoken word, fringe theatre, a fanzine, poster and record fair, independent film screenings, outdoor live music stages and more.

As a warm up, the Crawl will be hosting a huge opening night gig at KOKO on the Friday night, until 4AM, which will feature six live acts and a special guest headliner, set to be announced in the next few weeks.

Early bird weekend passes for the Camden Crawl will go on sale at 9AM on Wednesday 26th October with the full line-up likely to be announced in the New Year.

One name missing from the list will be Camden's very own Amy Winehouse. Amy performed at the 2007 Crawl and remained a loyal and vocal supporter of the event and the borough's music scene. Whatever and whoever is lined-up for 2012, expect one or two poignant moments in her memory.

Earlybird tickets for the 2012 crawl go on sale Wednesday 26th October at 9AM, costing £57.50 for the weekend, £62.50 for the weekend + KOKO opening night, £20 for just the KOKO opening night or £150 for VIP weekend tickets.
