How to deal with extremists - the Foo Fighters way!

Foo Fighters

On 16th September, Foo Fighters headed to Kansas City to play the Sprint Center as part of their autumn tour. Also scheduled was a protest by the Westboro Baptist Church. This is the "church" who have a penchant for colourful (in every way) posters stating "Thank God for 9/11", "God hates fags", "Fags doom nations" etc. Nice people.

The protest was in reaction to the Foo's recent "Hot Buns" viral video, which features buns of all varieties, the Foos dressed-up, and un-dressed, a shower scene, a bit of spanking and Dave Grohl dropping the soap... You can watch it here: hotbuns.foofighters.com

Anyway, on the day, on cue the protestors were there with their hateful banners, and up rolls a flat-bed lorry draped with star-spangled banners and with four "cowboys" on board, yelling "God bless America" etc, before opening with the song 'Keep it Clean'. The look on the protestors' faces is priceless. Surprise, surprise, most of them don't get it. With Dave proclaiming at one point:

I don't care if you're black or white or purple or green, whether you're Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum, it takes all kinds! Men loving women, and women loving men, and men loving men, and women loving women ... now we all like to watch that!

Check the video, above.

The band yesterday released the third single 'Arlandria', taken from the mighty 'Wasting Light', available to download now.
