Jay and Silent Bob

When Kevin Smith was being lauded as an auteur for his 1994 slacker hit 'Clerks', few could have foreseen that two of the film's characters, Jay and Silent Bob - played by Jason Mewes and Smith respectively - would become enduring comic entities in their own right, still going strong nearly two decades later.

A device through which Smith and Mewes can indulge their love of film and slacker culture, Jay and Silent Bob live in a world all of their own and in which all of Smith's films are set. Jay and Silent Bob are a modern Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, chronicling life in modern America, warts, fries and all.

After 'Clerks', The fictional duo turned-up in subsequent Smith movies 'Mallrats', 'Chasing Amy', 'Dogma', 'Clerks II' and even their own, dedicated cinematic outing, 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' in 2001. There have been appearances in other films, pop promos, comic books and TV shows, all of which has leant Jay and Silent Bob substantial momentum and develop an ardent fan-base, sated only by a series of live shows and podcasts.

Kevin Smith toured the UK in 2009 but this is the first time he has appeared here as Silent Bob and with Jay/Mewes in tow. Jay and Silent Bob Get Old is a live version of the (immensely) popular 'smodcasts', in which the duo share some of their earlier history and experiences of fame, all in their inimitable (and much-loved) style of storytelling.

Jay and Silent Bob will be getting old with four dates early in 2012, starting at the Manchester Apollo on 17th February, followed by the Hammersmith Apollo (18th) and the Edinburgh Festival Theatre (19th), before the final stop on the short whirlwind tour at Vicar Street in Dublin on 21st February 2012.

We have tickets available now for all dates, priced from £30 for the UK shows and €39 for Dublin.
