Dolly Parton's career spans 40-plus years, she's sold over 100 millions worldwide (!) and earned several awards, including a handful of Grammys. You've all heard the classic, "Jolene", "Love is Like a Butterfly", "9 to 5" and "I Will Always Love You" (made into a multi-million selling hit by Whitney Houston), so how about "In the Meantime", "Country is as Country Does" and "Shine Like the Sun"? Well, unless you're Dolly's recording engineer [or an allgigs reviewer - Ed], that'll be a 'no' - so far.
Those three songs form part of the dozen belters that make up her new studio-album, "Better Day" - and it's a corker. Allgigs Facebook fans (www.facebook.com/allgigs) Dorothee Archambault, Eleanor Grant, Irene Weddell, Julie Kenny and Mark Powell have each won a copy!
Dolly Parton kicked-off her UK tour on Saturday with back-to-back Glasgow dates, heading to Nottingham this evening, until Belfast on 15th September, with double-dates at London's O2 Arena and Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena in-between. Tickets are now scarce for most dates, but there are still some available for all except Liverpool and the first of the Cardiff dates - see below.
