Doris Day 'My Heart' CD winners announced

Posted: 12 years ago

If you thought that Doris Day had finished with making albums a few decades back, you'd be very wrong, as, at the tender age of 87, she has recently announced the release of her first new album for 17 years.

The 5th September sees the return of the iconic American singer, actress and animal-welfare campaigner with the album "My Heart", a collection of unreleased recordings produced by her late son, Terry Melcher, who also performs on the album. First single "Heaven Tonight" is due out beforehand. Other songs on "My Heart" include a cover of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" and several selections from musicals and films. You'll be pleased to know that she hasn't teamed-up with Tinie Tempah or Dappy in order to 'get modern' - it's classic Doris Day all the way - and she's in fine voice and fettle having chosen the songs herself.

We recently ran a competition to win five copies of the album via our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/allgigs) and here are five lucky Facebook followers, who will each win a copy: Clare Fitzpatrick, Jayne Morgan, Lorraine Lowis, Paul Gilronan and Sarah Teasdale.
