This young Scottish r'n'b singer and songwriter has barely even released her own material, but there's already a bit of a buzz about her guest-slots on (potentially) three Top 10 smash singles, as well as writing for more current pop luminaries.
Yes, Emeli Sandé has so far made more of a name for herself as a contributor to the fortunes of Devlin, Tinie Tempah and Cheryl Cole, as well as guesting on "Diamond Rings" by Chipmunk, "Never Be Your Woman" by Wiley and Professor Green's upcoming "Read All About It". But the time is now right to finish her own debut album, "Our Version of Events", due for release in November.
Prior to all of this, is the small matter of "Heaven", the string-laden break-beat Massive Attack-ish single that has already notched up over half a million viewings. Now, normally such mass appeal could be viewed with suspicion - not so with "Heaven". Although it's a not a new concept of mixing the above ingredients together, Sandé has made a pretty good job of it and, for once, the hype is certainly justified. Check out the song on the player above - it reeks of 'Number 1', we reckon.
You can also see Sandé live in concert at intimate venues across the UK in November, starting with Glasgow on the 1st, followed by stops in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton and finally London on the 7th. Tickets are on sale from next Monday, the 22nd, with prices starting at £10. She'll be playing bigger venues for higher prices next time, so don't miss out.
