US punk rock mainstays Alkaline Trio are visiting the UK in the autumn following the recent release of their eighth studio album, 'Damnation'. The latest LP is a largely acoustic collection of "beloved fan favourites" plus a couple of new tracks. 'Damnation' followed hot on the heels of 2010's 'This Addiction', which was hailed widely as a return to the band's punk roots.
Formed in Illinois in 1996, Alkaline Trio have released albums at a rate quicker than one every two years which has helped build a loyal fan base in the US and abroad. Marking the milestone, the trio have embarked on their 15th Anniversary Tour with the current line-up of founding member Matt Skiba, along with Dan Andriano and Derek Grant.
The Alkaline Trio bring the 15th Anniversary Tour to the UK in November 2011, beginning in Exeter on the 6th, followed by gigs in Portsmouth, Manchester, Sheffield, London (Electric Ballroom) and more, before the final date in the run at Edinburgh's HMV Picture House on Thursday 17th November.
We will have tickets for all dates when they go on sale at 9AM on Friday 12th August, priced £18 for London and £16.50 for all other venues.
In addition, Alkaline Trio bassist and vocalist, Dan Andriano, is part of The Revival Tour with Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem), Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music) and Dave Hause (The Loved Ones).
The tour kicks off in Bristol on 27th September, taking in Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham, London and others before the final date in Portsmouth on 17th October.
