We have just heard that A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip has just cancelled his UK stint. The rapper was due over in the UK in a few weeks time in Manchester and London at the Academy and IndigO2, but those dates have now been scrapped.

The dates were announced at the beginning of June, and we suspect a number of UK hip hop fans were salivating at the prospect of seeing him perform only his second batch of UK gigs in aeons, but that's not to be.

He last headlined Camden's Roundhouse in June 2009, but since then has just played a DJ set (also in London), with very few dates prior to that.

At the moment, there is no news as to why the events have been cancelled and whether-or-not they will be rescheduled, so it's probably best to obtain a refund from your point of purchase.
