English National Opera

Normally our acclaimed Special Offers cover shows and comedy, so this offer should please our opera and classical followers, or indeed anyone who wants to dip their toes into the ever-growing pool of top quality productions available.

The London Coliseum is the home of the English National Opera (or ENO) and has presented some of the most famous operas during its tenure as host since 1968. Previously, Lilian Baylis had built up the opera company from humble beginnings as entertainers to the less-privileged locals around the Waterloo area, mainly during the Victorian era. During the Second World War, the Baylis empire toured the UK, before eventually returning to The Old Vic. Its popularity dictated a move to a bigger venue, hence their permanent home being found in the late '60s.

As well as their current presentations, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", a romantic stage-work by William Shakespeare and the hard-hitting contemporary piece by Nico Muhly, "Two Boys", the ENO and The Coliseum are also running Verdi's exemplary wartime-opera, "Simon Boccanegra" - and boy, do we have a great offer for you?

The tale of civil war has been described as a 'mature tour-de-force' and stars Verdi baritone, Bruno Caproni (Nabucco). For just five performances ONLY, we have a limited supply of heavily-discounted tickets.

The Special Offer is: Book selected full price seats for Simon Boccanegra and save up to 60% off the full price. The offer covers performances on 28th June, 2nd , 5th , 7th and 9th July, evening performances with some seats previously costing £92 being reduced to just £28.75!!
