Before Chris Addison was the latest guy from that insurance commercial, he was the guy from 'The Thick of It' or 'Mock The Week' or 'Have I Got News For You?'. He's never really been That Stand-up Guy, which is odd when he's so very good at it.
In fact, fifteen years or so ago, it was where Addison first made his mark. Since then, writing, TV, radio and film success, including Armando Iannucci's big screen The Thick of It, 2009's 'In the Loop', have taken over somewhat.
But Chris Addison returned to stand-up a couple of years ago and has never looked back. Scores of sold-out venues and critical acclaim have propelled the former Manchester Grammar School pupil into the premier league of UK stand-ups.
To prove it, his new tour has no less than ten warm-up shows. Starting on 1st November with a run of four warm-ups at The Tabard in Chiswick (some of which have already sold out), Chris Addison warms up even more with dates across the south before beginning the tour 'proper' at The Gatehouse in Stafford on 16th November, by which time he'll be red hot.
Thirty or so dates follow, including three nights in Scotland (17th - 19th November) and a show in Cardiff on 22nd February 2012. The last gig of the tour is currently scheduled for Shrewsbury on March 18th 2012 but, given Addison's popularity, more may yet follow - especially once he begins hosting Channel 4's brand new comedy showcase 'Show & Tell', scheduled for the autumn.
Tickets for all dates are available now, with some warm-up shows just £10. Tickets for the vast majority of shows are available from £20.
