Coldplay unveil hot new song, 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall' - live round-up for 2011

The announcement of a new Coldplay song is often greeted with hysterical joy, nonchalance and indifference or a swiftly-executed middle-finger, such is the division between music-loving camps. Me? I don't mind 'em, to be honest, but I reckon even the hardest of critics would be won over by their first new material for three years.

To your right, you will find a neatly-embedded player, containing new song "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" - a return to form if ever we heard one. OK, the title smacks of a self-satisfying, chin-stroking, bed-wetting, sad-face Armageddon [er, steady on - Ed], but the song itself is a little belter and destined to be a festival-favourite. Coldplay are BACK!

However, getting to see them live this year is almost impossible - Glastonbury 2011 is sold out, T in The Park 2011 is sold out and Bilbao BBK Live 2011 is in... erm Bilbao! But you can catch them at the Main Square Festival 2011 in Northern France (not far from Lille) and the Oxegen 2011 in Ireland. At the latter gathering, Coldplay get to perform on the Sunday with day tickets costing €99.50 (or €244.50 for the whole weekend). Best of luck! *presses play again*.
