Let's Go Crazy! Prince confirmed as Sunday headliner for Hop Farm Festival 2011

Posted: 12 years ago

It's time to don your Raspberry Beret, clasp your Diamonds and Pearls and jump into your Little Red Corvette, because one of the biggest and most influential performers on the planet is headlining Kent's Hop Farm Festival on the Sunday night - PRINCE! Never mind the 'subjects' that just got hitched, this is one right royal occasion for sure and sees the disco-soul-funk legend perform in the UK for the first time since his 21-date O2 residency a few years back.

Prince will round-off the newly-expanded three-day gathering in Paddock Wood with the usual array of hits and anthems from his timeless catalogue - you'll be able to party like it's 2011! Other headliners include The Eagles and Morrissey, making this a bit of a must-see dark-horse in the festival calendar.

The whole festival now takes place from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July, with Sunday and three day tickets going on sale tomorrow morning at 9am, costing £70 for the Sunday, £170 for the three-day weekend. There will be an opportunity for existing weekend-ticket holders to upgrade their original admission for a special price of £40, should you so wish (and that is surely going to be a 'yes'!).

It is unclear whether this will be an exclusive appearance, but you can be assured that his biggest song,s such as "Kiss", "Diamonds and Pearls", "When Doves Cry" and "1999", will feature at some point. Just have a brolly handy if he strikes up a spot of "Purple Rain"!
