I have a feeling this isn't going to go down too well with most of their fans - Blink 182 have officially rubbed out their entire proposed visit to the UK and Ireland this summer, by postponing the whole tour and festival slots until next year!

An official statement on Blink 182's website states:

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce our planned 2011 European Summer tour has been rescheduled.
When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the summer. Turns out we were mistaken as the album is taking longer than we thought and won't be out till later this year.
We hoped we would have some new songs to play rather than do another 'greatest hits tour' which you all saw last Summer.
Apologies to all of our fans who have bought tickets and were looking forward to the Summer shows but we'll be back soon with the rescheduled dates in Summer 2012

Considering the band had successfully sold-out over half of the tour, this seems a rather risky and curious gamble, regardless of the reasons.

New tour dates for the remainder of the UK will begin from 7th June in Birmingham and end in Liverpool on 12th July. Original tickets will still be valid but if you are heading to the Olympics instead, you should contact the ticket agent from whom you purchased.

Meanwhile, the festival appearances at Oxegen and T in the Park have also sadly gone for a burton, although the band have replaced those appearances with shows in Dublin (12th June 2012), Belfast (13th) and Glasgow (20th). German, Czech, Italian and Luxembourg dates are also affected, including resultant festivals.

The new album had better be worth it...
