Eels

So, the Beautiful Freak that is E, AKA Mark Oliver Everett, and his band are to visit us this summer for a short series of gigs in July 2011.

The band, who released no less than three studio albums (a concept trilogy, apparently) in the past eighteen months: 'Hombre Lobo' [Spanish translation for werewolf] in June 2009, 'End Times' in January 2010 and 'Tomorrow Morning' in August 2010, will play the Brighton Dome on 6th July, Newcastle's O2 Academy on the 11th and the Leeds O2 Academy on the 12th. The band will also make a few festival appearances at Glastonbury (26th June), Oxegen in Ireland on the 9th July and T in the Park in Scotland on the 10th, as well as take part in the Somerset House Summer Series on the 7th July.

A mini-marathon that is, but considering all three albums made it to the UK charts (respectively at number 18, 18 and 21) a little too scarce date-wise, so let's hope more shows will be added to their schedule. [not likely - they have a monstrous summer tour schedule! - Ed].

In the meantime, tickets for Eels' mini tour are on sale now, costing £21.00. Also watch out for their London date at the Somerset House, tickets for which go on sale tomorrow, Friday 1st April at 9am.
