Sing it loud - k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang for June 2011 UK tour

Posted: 13 years ago

Y'know, with all the fuss being (quite rightly) generated about Rumer's soothing vocal-skills, you realise that there have been other similar singers throughout the last few decades, none more so than k.d. lang, who successfully crooned her way through a few successful albums in the '90s. "Constant Craving" earned her slots on music play-lists, TV shows and the nation's radios - job done.

Lang has now announced her first album with a backing band since the early releases with The Reclines back in the '80s, employing the ensemble Siss Boom Bang, which may give a slight indication that she's gone all energetic on us. Whatever, the Canadian singer is coming to the UK in June with new songs - time to get a little bit excited, we reckon.

Her UK tour begins in Birmingham on 30th May, followed by Manchester (31st), two nights at London's Royal Festival Hall (2nd and 3rd June), Nottingham (4th) and finally (for now) Glasgow on the 6th. Tickets for all but the London dates are on sale now, with the capital concerts on sale Friday. Prices start at £35.

You can catch K.D.Lang performing the new single "I Confess" on Jools Holland (19th Apr) and Titchmarsh (20th). The new album, "Sing It Loud", appears on 18th April.
