Miles Kane, former frontman of The Rascals and one part of the Last Shadow Puppets (the other parts being Alex Turner when he makes time away from Arctic Monkeys and producer James Ford) , is to release his debut solo album, 'Colour of the Trap', on 9th May. So far, two singles have been put out ahead of the LP, 'Inhaler' (in November 2010) and 'Come Closer' (in February). For the album, Kane has surrounded himself with the likes of Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals and Gorillaz collaborator Dan the Automator.

In-between playing main support to buddies Beady Eye at the Royal Albert Hall on 23rd March and the Arctic Monkeys in June, the Liverpudlian songwriter will be headlining his very own 12-date tour in May, which will kick off in Stoke on the 4th, via the cities of Darlington, Hull, York, London (on the 11th, at KCLSU), Oxford , Southampton, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dundee, hometown Liverpool (as part of Liverpool Sound City 2011 on the 20th), and end in Brighton on the 22nd. Miles was recently added to the - now sold-out - T in the Park 2011 line-up as well as Oxegen 2011 in county Kildare in Ireland.

Tickets for the May tour cost £9 regionally, £11.50 in London, plus booking fee and are on sale now. [Note that tickets for Manchester have already sold-out - Ed].
