Blithe Spirit tickets for up to 20% off selected weekday performances until 18th June 2011
Due to begin playing soon at the Apollo Theatre is Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, due to start a 3 month run from 2nd March until 18th June. The comical play centres on a novelist (Charles Condomine) and his second wife (Ruth) who attend a séance performed by the eccentric and maverick medium Madame Arcati, played by Alison Steadman.
During the séance, the couple convince themselves she is a fraud, even when she conjures up the apparent apparition of Charles' first wife Elvira, played by Ruthie Henshall. Being a Noel Coward play, anarchy and confusion soon follows with the vengeful Elvira threatening to wreck his successful marriage to his second wife.
The play has been performed in many theatres since its debut in 1941, as well as a stint on Broadway last year and is widely acclaimed as one of Coward's finest comedies.
The Apollo Theatre has released a small selection of reduced seats to celebrate the first month of its new production, directed by Thea Sharrock (After The Dance). The offer is: Buy selected Blithe Spirit tickets for £45.99, instead of £49.50 - a saving of nearly 10%.
