Fleet Foxes show cunning with 2011 album and first UK headline-date in 18 months

Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes are a band that critics run to for superlatives and comparisons, every time the artist they are listening to starts to harmonize and strum sweet melodies. I know - I'm guilty as charged, m'lud. But it's certainly fair to say that a fair few bands have switched on to this tremendously absorbing and eclectic band of merry-men, not a bad thing at all (if it sidetracks them away from bawling emo-esque self-pity at us!).

2011 heralds the return of the angelically voiced troupe, starting with a brand new album on Bella Union called "Helplessness Blues" and just the one (so far) UK date to plug it. The album will see the light of day in May, as well as their good selves of course! Fleet Foxes will play Hammersmith Apollo on 31st May and tickets will go on sale Friday at 9am - demand will be intense, to say the least.

The band's debut-album was an incredible piece of work that, when translated into live performance (you may remember their five-date residency at the Roundhouse or support slot for Elbow at Meltdown), caused a few bottom-lip trembles and minor emotional hysteria. Thankfully, the new album is already likely to be a bit good - check out the title track on this very page!
