East London's newest nightclub and venue XOYO has already featured a few label nights and launch parties during its short tenure, and now it is set to continue doing this unabated with two Lovebox-linked club nights.
Both tagged as Bang the Box, the events will feature the latest and greatest from the world of electronic beats, starting with the Paris-based Ed Banger Records night on 5th February. Owner Busy P and world-renowned tech-stepper DJ Mehdi will present tracks from the forthcoming mix-collection "Let the Children Techno", due out on 14th February. It's an eclectic blend of minimal tech-house, dubstep and breaks from around the world. Tickets for this inaugural BTB night cost £14.
The second night on 5th March is arguably bigger in line-up terms and features contributors from leading electro label, Night Slugs. Based in London and already becoming THE community to watch in 2011 (it only formed a year ago), according to FACT magazine, Resident Advisor and Pitchfork. With founder, German-producer and DJ, Bok Bok at the helm, the label has unleashed a raft of neighbour-bothering bass-heavy 12" and has gathered a few of them up for a compilation entitled, "Night Slugs Allstars Vol 1". Bok Bok and London-based DJ L-Vis 1990 will appear together, as well as various other performers on 5th March. Tickets cost £14. Airhorns not included!
Don't forget that Lovebox 2011 itself kicks off on 15th July in Hackney's Victoria Park and 3-day tickets are available to buy at £99, or you can pay half now and the rest later. Line-up to be announced very soon!
