Free iTunes Festival London 2011 boasts Linkin Park, Duran Duran and Rumer in initial line-up

Camden's iconic Roundhouse venue is all set to present this year's iTunes Festival once again, offering three big names as part of its opening salvo. The festival will take place during July (from 1st to 31st) and will feature over 60 world-class acts from around the world, much like previous choices such as Paul McCartney, Oasis and Kasabian.

First out of the hat is Linkin Park, fresh from releasing yet another monster-selling album in September 2010 entitled "A Thousand Suns". The American rock-band has already been confirmed for this year's Download Festival on 10th July, but Chester and co will be appearing for zero pennies in Camden on the 4th. Which sort-of gives away the fact the lads might stick around for more live action in between those dates - T in the Park maybe?

The other two big names confirmed for a bit of gratis iTunes action are Duran Duran and Rumer. Both artists have new material either ready for release or just issued - in fact, Rumer's rather woozy and enjoyable debut-album, "Seasons Of My Soul", has already earned a slot in the Top 3 of the Albums Chart. She will appear at the Roundhouse on 18th July, while the slickest band from the 80s and 90s will perform big hits and new tracks from their upcoming album, "All You Need Is Now".

The Durannies will also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut smash, "Planet Earth" - expect some reissue activity as well. Le Bon and co will play the Roundhouse on 16th July.

Remember that these concerts are free but you will still need to apply for tickets to get in - head over to www.itunesfestival.com for further details. We will of course keep you informed of additions to the line-up!
