Ask anyone who the 'Big four' is comprised of and they'll say Cowell, Walsh, Minogue and Cole or Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City (if they were drunk, of course). But the real 'Big four' is a far bigger phenomenon than those overpaid divas - this is the heavy metal version.

Sonisphere 2011 has just swollen its ranks with the addition of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax to the Friday headlining slot at next Summer's massive weekend. Although this won't be the first time the quartet have performed on the same bill (they rocked out across a few European Sonispheres during 2010), it's a prospect that has had UK metal fans salivating profusely since last year - and now it's a huge reality. Don't be surprised if the four of them collaborate for one big foursome on stage to conclude the night! Add in the previously announced Slipknot and Biffy Clyro and you have quite a line-up (despite the latter getting a shoeing for the X Factor connection at the moment - yeah, whatever).

Tickets for the entire weekend cost £165 (3-day), £175 (4 day) or £185 (4-day family area) with numerous deposit options available. Entry is free for under 12s accompanied by an adult with a valid family ticket.

Over to you, Download 2011... whatcha got in your locker?
