The Wombats have today announced the release dates for their second album, the second single from the album and the postponement of their January tour. The album will be in UK record shops on 7th February, with the single 'Techno Fan' preceding it by two weeks for a 24th January release.

The band were originally due to hit UK and Irish venues from 18th January, but will now start instead on 4th March in Manchester. The venues remain the same for the entire tour, it's just the northern and southern Ireland dates now take place at the end rather than start of the tour, taking place on 19th (Belfast) and 20th (Dublin) March. In between, the band visit Newcastle, Dundee, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Norwich, London - at the Hammersmith Apollo, Cardiff and Bristol.

The reason for the postponement of the tour is to allow fans to hear the album ahead of the tour. Tickets for some dates are in short supply - Manchester was sold-out, but there are now a handful (presumably returns), but Sheffield's Leadmill gig remains sold-out. Tickets cost £13 regionally, with the Hammersmith date costing £15. Original tickets remain valid, but if you are unable to make the new dates you should obtain a refund from your point of purchase.
