Holy smokes! Batman has Gotham in his sights with full Batman Live 2011 UK arena shows

Posted: 13 years ago

One of the most enduring images from the publisher DC Comics is the infamous Batman logo being projected against the night-sky in the mythical urban-conurbation of Gotham City, be it in comics or the numerous live-action and animated film and TV series spin-offs during the past five decades. His side-kick Robin (and his butler Alfred) have thrilled millions during their caped crusades against evil, normally represented by a maniac in make-up - hello the Joker, the Riddler and the Penguin.

An exciting new show is set to bring all these characters and more to life, as part of a forthcoming live-action arena-show spectacular set to hit these shores as the premier for a world tour next year. This is the first time in DC Comics history that such a huge undertaking has been commissioned. Holy toledos! You won't want to miss this!

The confirmed dates begin in Manchester on 20th-24th July, followed by Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham and others until the last stop in Belfast on 5th-9th October. London's O2 Arena will host over a week's worth of shows, beginning on 24th August and running until 4th September - that looks like a major school-holiday present for the family!

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am with prices starting at £20 + fees. The show will feature huge Gotham City sets, acrobatic tricks and plenty of illusions and light-shows. To the Batmobile (and Batcomputer)...!!
