If there's one band that seems to have attracted a welter of tribute bands, it's Dave Grohl's power-rockers - y'know, there's the Faux, Fool, Four, Food (!), Fu and Poo Fighters to choose from (OK, I might have fibbed about the last one). So you'd far rather see the real thing right?
The fabulous Foo Fighters have announced a double stadium date for July 2011, choosing the Milton Keynes National Bowl for their purposes. And it won't just be the Foos turning up - there's a whole cavalcade of guest acts booked for the same days, in fact there are different bands lined up for the Saturday AND the Sunday. And not just any old bands either - Biffy Clyro fer gawd's sakes! The top-notch Death Cab for Cutie!! Tame Impala and Jimmy Eat World!!!
The dates to remember are the 2nd and the 3rd July and tickets go on sale Friday 5th November at 9am, that's Friday week - plenty of time to beg, borrow, earn or pimp for the admission fee.
The band are back in the studio hard at work on their next album, rumoured by Grohl himself to be their 'heaviest yet'. Now that is good news!
Face value tickets for both the 2nd and 3rd July Milton Keynes dates are now sold-out.
