The influential post-punk band Wire will be performing two sold-out shows in November at the Lexington in London(8th/9th), as well as a nearly-sold-out show at Oxford's Jericho Tavern on the 10th - hurry for tickets to the latter gig, it's just £15 to get in.
Next year though, Wire's next phase begins in earnest with the release of a brand new album and more tour dates. The new set of songs is entitled "Red Barked Tree" and contains 11 electro-rock and left-field tracks, a few of which were aired at their recent London Garage date. It is due for release on 10th January, around a month before their next London date on 2nd Feb at the Scala - admission is £17.50.
The trio (and guests) will then head to Nottingham (3rd Feb), Belfast (6th), Edinburgh (8th) and finally Glasgow (9th) - tickets for all four are now available priced at £18. You can expect a cross-section of new tracks, plus the occasional classic from their 'Pink Flag' and Mute eras.
