After serving an apprenticeship with Super Furry Animals, front-man Gruff Rhys now turns his attention to all things piscine with his new single and a short intimate tour.

The new track, "Shark Infested Waters" appears on 12" only and heralds the release of Rhys' third studio album due very soon. The track, produced by psych-rock maestro Andy Votel, is also available as a download by visiting www.gruffrhys.com .

The short-but-sweet 'stripped-back' tour begins in Galway on 13th November and continues to Belfast, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and finishing in London at the Toynbee Studios on 26th. Tickets are gradually sneaking out on sale, priced at £10-£14.50 and will probably sell out quickly due to the small venues involved.

Earlier this year Rhys released a psychedelic karma-off CD with Tony Dagatorra entitled "The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness" as well as overseeing the release of his film "Seperado" and collaborating with Gorillaz on the jolly track "Superfast Jellyfish". Looks like he hasn't lost the use of his, ahem, jaws just yet.
