We recently reported on the upcoming appearance of the Michael Nyman Band at the Barbican later this month, performing as part of the presentation of "Nyman With A Movie Camera" and the award-nominated album "The Glare".
We are pleased to be able to offer you discounted seats for the performance on Sunday 17th October 2010, which features a simultaneous broadcast from the band alongside a screening of the Nyman-assembled footage, sequenced with Dziga Vertov's original film, "Man With A Movie Camera".
Tickets now cost £15 instead of £25 - just click on the 'Book this Offer' box, below, to take advantage.
The idea behind this production was to insert Nyman's own camera footage with Vertov's visionary imagery which is "concerned with "the perception of truth" and with the documentation of "life caught unawares"". The evening also features performances of tracks from the album "The Glare", originally recorded with David McAlmont in 2009, who will also appear on the night.
