Chicago the Musical

She's sassy, she's keen but she's also a killer - yes, she's Roxie Hart, the star of the successful show Chicago The Musical, originally made famous by Phillis Haver a good few decades ago (during the silent-movie era, no less!). The smash-hit musical has been resident at the Cambridge Theatre in London's West End since 2006, continuing on from its original successes in 1979 when it first appeared at this venue.

Based on a true-story, Chicago tells the story of a chorus girl charged with murdering her departed lover. With the flash-Harry lawyer Billy Flynn, plus all sorts of circumstantial shenanigans involving her husband taking the blame etc, she escapes jail. Across town, a similar situation surrounds Velma, another chorus girl who has just terminated her husband and his lover (her sister). The two murderers hook up after being acquitted and the rest, as they say, is a vibrant and vivacious West End musical.
