He is currently in the throes of an extensive US tour to promote his latest album released, but soon acclaimed singer-songwriter Jesse Malin will re-appear back in the UK for a few dates at the end of the year. Having released an album of cover-versions in 2008 ("On Your Sleeve"), which included a curious and broad spread of interpretations, including songs by Neil Young, The Clash, The Kills, The Flaming Lips, Lou Reed and, er, Lords of the New Church, he is back with an album of Malin standards.
Released earlier this year with cohorts "the St. Marks Social", "Love it to Life" featured the not-too-dissimilar Ryan Adams on a couple of tracks, plus the single "Burning The Bowery" and the You Tube new-release, "All The Way From Moscow". We've uploaded the latter so you can get a flavour of Malin's rawk 'n' roll chops.
The tour featuring Jesse Malin and the St. Marks Social comprises dates in Sheffield, Glasgow, Leicester and London, though I'm sure there will be a few additions later on. Tickets are on sale now for the Glasgow gig (5th Dec), while the rest hit the servers on Friday at 3pm - yes, that's right, 3pm.
