Deep in the West of England, at around the end of October, something will stir to the sound of rumbling bass-lines and pounding beats, and then some. Yes, it's the return of one of the largest clubbing events in the region - Westfest 2010 as funded by hardcore-label Slammin Vinyl.

Held at the Royal Bath & West Showground on 30th October, and with tickets costing just £35 for the whole event (starts at 7pm), Westfest 2010 will feature legendary drum 'n' bass producer and co-founder of Ram Records, Andy C as the headlining act.

Also known for his work with Shimon as Ram Trilogy and Ant Miles as the more junglist Origin Unknown, Andy C hit gold with the hit "Body Rock" (with Shimon) in 2002, as well as releasing early work by Chase and Status and Sub Focus. As well as Westfest, C is also playing several club nights over the next couple of months, including a Ram night in Birmingham on 13th Nov with DJ Hype and Fabio (£16.50 for this one).

Drum 'n' bass isn't the only genre on the bill in Somerset - hip-hop 'n' breaks is represented by Scratch Perverts and hardcore 'n' techno gets its stripes from Hixxy and Darren Styles. The latter pairing will certainly fit in well - there is also a Hardcore Heaven Award up for grabs. Not to mention seven arenas, a funfair and several food and bar stalls. Hands to the lazers!
