Clinic make sweet music with their autumn 2010 Bubblegum album, single and UK tour

Posted: 13 years ago

In existence for a little over 13 years now means Clinic have 'soldiered on' without any huge rewards. They had some exposure in 2000 when the song "The Second Line" was chosen by Levi's for a jeans TV advert, but the re-issued single stopped short of the land of fame and fortune - number 56 in fact. Still, the band have never been anything but interesting as their latest video reveals, heralding the arrival of a new album and subsequent tour.

"I'm Aware" will get a release on 27th September on Domino and you can watch and listen the video, just to the right of these words. The animation has been provided by Super Furry Animals' artistic collaborator, Peter Fowler and the song is rather moreish - I've played it 3 times and it's embedded in my head (as well as this page). The new album (their sixth) will see the light of day on 4th October and will be entitled "BubbleGum".

The chaps have also sorted out some live action for you with a few provisional nights in October pencilled in, beginning with Manchester (22nd) and followed by Stockton (25th), Shoreditch (28th) and Leeds (29th). Tickets are on sale now priced at around a tenner (a bit more in London). If the rest of the album is string-driven dreamy pop with a twist, I'm definitely 'in'.
