Stereophonics

After some truly memorable live performances over the past 12 months, Stereophonics have announced two special live performances of their debut and sophomore albums: 'Word gets Around' and 'Performance and Cocktails' in London this Autumn.

The band rounded-off a lovely pair of V Festival appearances last weekend and have decided to head back to London for two monster gigs at the Hammersmith Apollo on 17th and 18th October. On 17th the band will perform 'Word gets Around' in its entirety + B-sides, performing the number one follow-up album 'Performance and Cocktails' + B-sides on 18th.

Now, keep calm (as the band might say) - tickets haven't gone on sale yet but they will this Friday at 9am. Time to stoke up the servers, methinks. The price for the tickets is £29.50 plus the usual fees and will no doubt whizz out of the proverbial door. The 2009 release of "Keep Calm and Carry On" didn't set the world alight, surprisingly - failing to make the top 10 normally means a downward spiral for most bands but, in this day and age, the proof is in the concert. I'm not a huge fan of Stereophonics but I do admire their workrate and power. You can witness it on the video just above these words - "Trouble" was delivered at a blistering rate at their legendary Cardiff City gig in June (surely a DVD release in the making).
