Nowhere to hide - Union Sound Set announce autumn 2010 dates to unveil soaring anthems

Posted: 13 years ago

Previously called Prego and now more sensibly called Union Sound Set, this powerful and anthemic alt-rock outfit from London are set to introduce you to their dramatic and emotional sound with a pair of London dates and a couple of 'regionals' over the next couple of months. But first, you'll be wanting to know what they sound like - check out the impressive video for the upcoming single "Hiding Places" and you will hear an amalgam of The National, Editors, Delorentos and even a smidgen of Mogwai or Explosions In The Sky (on acid, maybe). They make a rather delicious racket, truth be told.

So, still want to see them unveil songs from their debut album, "Start Stop", due out in October? Yeah, of course you do. The single gets launched at the Camden Barfly on 27th September, with tickets costing under a tenner even with all of the fees added in. Now that's a snip. If you can't make this first London show, then you can catch them on their return to the capital, this time at Kilburn's Luminaire on 26th October with tickets only costing £7. Their other two nights are in Southampton on the 21st Oct and Leeds on the 23rd, at similar prices.
