The Prisoner of Second Avenue top matinee seats for £25 - summer 2010
Posted: 10th August 2010
Originally a film starring the dry-witted Jack Lemmon as Mel and Anne Bancroft as the long-suffering Edna, "The Prisoner Of Second Avenue" is a black comedy that tells the tale of a couple living in Manhattan, facing redundancy and life on the scrapheap during middle-age. The film was a success (Bancroft was nominated for a BAFTA), but the whole plot was originally fashioned from a Broadway play of the same name - now, in 2010, a new version of the play has arrived in the West End and we have some discounted 'top seats' available for you.
Jeff Goldblum stars in the new production, as the man on the verge of a very nervous breakdown, with Mercedes Ruehl as his wife. The bittersweet drama is set to run for the next 6 weeks and by clicking on the link below, you can purchase limited matinee tickets for Saturday and Thursday performances for £25 (instead of £39), from now until 25th September, when the West End run ends. Check the 'Book this Offer' button, below for availability.
There is plenty of keen anticipation surrounding this play and Goldblum has even taken part in Top Gear's 'star in the reasonably-priced car' - anyone who is taller than Clarkson and can still fit inside any motor deserves to be watched for his true talent and Goldblum is a master of playing earnest and quirky characters.
