Brian Molko and his power-trio Placebo have announced their first headline date since last Christmas plus the re-release of their most-recent album "Battle For The Sun". The one-off concert will take place at Brixton Academy on 27th September with tickets on sale from Friday at 9am, priced at £29.50 plus fees.

If you were witness to their Sonisphere performance last month, you will no doubt have heard news of the impending re-issue of 2009's Top 10 set, "Battle for The Sun" - and a rather smart package it looks as well. Out on the same day as the Brixton concert, the album has been remastered with the 2010 version of "Bright Lights", an extra 10-track CD containing new and reworked tracks such as "Trigger Happy Hands", "Blind", "Monster Truck" and "Drag", a vacuum-sealed T-shirt plus handwritten liner-notes by Molko himself and wrapped in a fetching slipcase.

Tickets for this show are expected to steam out due to the band's lack of venue performances in recent years - perhaps this re-release of an already good album may sway Placebo to appear in rather less arena-like environments in the coming months.
