Shear entertainment - Scissor Sisters announce Winter 2010 UK arena tour

Posted: 13 years ago

You can't deny how huge Scissor Sisters are as a band and a phenomenon, especially after their rather flamboyant Glastonbury appearance (with a certain Kylie in tow) a couple of weekends back. The new album didn't quite make the top-spot for a 3-in-a-row situation, but no matter - there's a tour to announce and it's going to sell-out.

Jake and the gang have opted for arenas, December and an on-sale date of Friday 9th July at 10AM, with tickets costing £30 - £32.50 and the dates begin with Birmingham on the 3rd, Cardiff (6th), Glasgow (8th), Newcastle (10th), Manchester (11th), Brighton (12th), Nottingham (14th) and finally London's O2 on the 15th.

Reviews for "Nightwork" (and accompanying single "Fire With Fire") have been pretty favourable with the song "Any Which Way" set become a favourite after the Kylie-enhanced performance at Glastonbury. The album version also features her along with Helen Terry and, er, Ian McKellen also present on "Whole New Way" and "Invisible Light" respectively. The production skills of Les Rhythmes Digitales, or Stuart Price as he is otherwise christened, has certainly given the set a lift. The band has also recently appeared at the iTunes Festival (at the beginning of the month), to much euphoria, as well as a short UK/ Ireland tour in June.
