Birds and Planes in a Dinosaur Pile-up - Leeds power-pop trio announce September 2010 tour and new album

Dinosaur Pile-up

I guess a dinosaur pile-up is not something you're likely to see every day, unless Top Gear somehow organize it to test out the front roll-bars on the new Aston Martin Stupendo V8 GT. But Dinosaur Pile-Up, the band, now that's quite a different story - with a new and fairly extensive September tour just announced, you'd be hard-pressed to avoid them. They're even playing in Devon, too much of a rarity these days.

If you visit their MySpace page (www.myspace.com/dinosaurpileup), you'll spot a track on their player called "Birds and Planes" - play it, it is rather tasty as it goes. A little bit Foo's, a little bit (dare I say it) Dinosaur Jnr and a wee bit Sebadoh, it's a sampler for the new single that gets a release on 26th July just before the onslaught of their debut album "Growing Pains" and a tasty tour to back it all up. If the singles is anything to go by, it'll be worth copping an hour with this trio at one of the following gigs.

They start in York on the 13th September and continue to Manchester (14th), Nottingham (15th), Bristol (16th) etc until Sheffield on the 30th and Crew on 1st October. Tickets are up now and cost a jolly reasonable £7 - £8. And when I tell you that the threesome have supported Pixies and Violens and appeared at Leeds / Reading 2009, Bestival, Oxegen and T in the Park, you should be assured that these lads have moved on pretty quick from their earlier releases.
