Spring Offensive announce special remix package for 2010 album 'Pull Us Apart'
Posted: 18th June 2010
To celebrate the availability of their brand new remix EP, Spring Offensive have personally bound sections of rope, previously used in their 'Every Coin' music video, to modify the packaging of a limited amount of their 'Pull Us Apart' debut album's stock for of their Album 'n' Remix CD combo release.
The dynamic indie-rock quintet, recently declared by Huw Stephens as a "BBC Tip Of The Week" in addition to being hand-picked to perform on the BBC's tribute album to Radiohead's The Bends, spent months perfecting the concept of their 'Pull Us Apart' album. The album received huge praise from fans and media alike, particularly for its impressive use of uniquely-structured loud/quiet songwriting and imaginative lyrical themes.
These strange and unique lyrical topics are particularly prominent in 'Every Coin' (the tale of a man forced to literally eat the entire contents of his wallet), 'Slow Divisions' (a final message written onboard a sinking ship), 'Everything Other Than This' (self-describing their own band on the verge of giving up) and 'Abacus Rex' (loosely based on mathematician Alan Turing's obsession with his work and ultimately his suicide).
The 3-track remix EP (which includes a remix by Talons) is only available to buy with the bundle and has already prompted fans to re-buy the album that they had previously bought digitally. Spring Offensive's lead vocalist Lucas Whitworth states "We feel in this digital age you have to give something more, perhaps something just a little bit unique for fans to buy physical CDs. Although including an exclusive remix EP and packaging the album with rope may not seem like a big deal to some, we noticed an immediate interest from a large share of our fans as soon as we announced the idea to our mailing list."
Spring Offensive, who used bound rope to symbolise the album's title 'Pull Us Apart', have limited the combo release to 100 copies, partially to ensure it remains limited edition and partially because they have run out of the rope they used in their music video...
'Pull Us Apart' by Spring Offensive is available now both on CD and on all good download stores.
