Race for the prize - Athlete are back on tour and in your town for 2010 Autumn tour

They've been nominated for a Mercury, won an Ivor Novello, gone platinum with their previous albums and had a song featured on Doctor Who, the first artist ever to do so. Better get racing for those Athlete tour tickets then! Yes the London-based quartet are back on the road later on this year, in support of new material including the forthcoming EP, "The Getaway", due on 14th June (having already had an airing in the States).

The new string of dates begins in Liverpool on 16th November and continues on to Leamington Spa (17th), Nottingham (18th), Norwich (21st), Cambridge (22nd), Oxford (24th), Bournemouth (25th), Bristol (26th), Leeds (27th), Sheffield (29th), Newcastle (1st Dec), Manchester (3rd) and finally Birmingham on the 4th. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9:30AM, priced at £16.50.

Ahead of all that, Athlete are appearing at a few festivals during the summer starting with the Greenwich Summer Sessions on 25th July, alongside I Am Kloot, The Invisible, Tape The Radio and Sunday Girl. Tickets are still available for £27.50. Or, if you are in Worcestershire, you could see them play a fund-raiser festival slot at the Teme Valley Bridge Bash (at Stanford, not Stamford, Bridge) on 31st July. It's a beer and music festival raising cash for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Failing that, head to Devon and the delightful South Hams region for Ivylive, set to host Athlete on Friday 10th September.
