I was just thinking to myself, it must be time for Northern Ireland to announce a music-festival, after all, every other flipping city has one. Belfast comes to the rescue once again with Belsonic, a four-day bash held at the end of August and featuring some major names to the bargain.

Starting on Thursday 26th August and running until Sunday 29th, Belsonic boasts headliners in Paul Weller (Friday), Biffy Clyro (Saturday), Soulwax/2 Many DJs (Thursday) and David Guetta (Sunday). Other confirmed names so far include The Courteeners, The Japanese Popstars, Lostprophets, Major Lazer and Twin Atlantic with many more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets have just gone on sale and cost £31.50 (including fee) per day - there are no four-day tickets due to this event taking place in a walled city area in Custom House Square, which also means that there is no camping or trudging through muddy fields. We'll keep you informed of any new additions that get announced in the coming weeks.
