During the second night of Paul Weller's five night Royal Albert Hall residency, the renowned singer, songwriter, musician and producer unveiled a special guest - and I can imagine that more than half the audience almost p!ssed their pants when The Jam/ Stiff Little Fingers bass player Bruce Foxton appeared!

The pair shared a stage together for the first time in twenty eight years(!), playing the Paul Weller song "Fast Car / Slow Traffic" taken from the critically acclaimed new album 'Wake Up the Nation' - on which Foxton features. What? Oh, did they play any songs by The Jam, why yes they did, indeed... 'Eton Rifles' and 'The Butterfly Collector'.

Of course this is going to (again) fuel speculation about a reunion for The Jam - which is perhaps a bit more likely than a few years back when he was quoted as saying: "Me and my children would have to be destitute and starving in the gutter before I'd even consider that, and I don't think that'll happen anyway.". Stranger things (and reunions) have happened.

The last two of Paul's Royal Albert Hall residency dates take place tonight and tomorrow - tickets for which are of course sold-out.

Next month see the release of 'Find the Torch, Burn the Plans', released on 14th June on Island records.
