Seth Lakeman's on the Fiddle Again - New Album Sparks a Lot of Folking Dates and Festival Slots for 2010

Seth Lakeman

Devon knows how they made him so keen but Seth Lakeman just keeps on popping-up at Festivals, as well as striking up the fiddle for his own headliners. 2010 looks like one of those busy years with a new album expected later this Spring and an extensive trot around the country, playing hither and thither across the land.

If you want to get into tonight's Arts Centre gig in Kendal then good luck - it's sold out. His other April dates are heading that way as well, especially his home-coming date at Plymouth University on the 17th. Luckily, he has a few more gigs to play later in the year: Coventry (Kasbah - 22nd May - £17) has just been confirmed along with Bath (Komedia - 14th May) and a few July evenings in Sevenoaks (1st), Whitley Bay (9th) and Frome (14th) at around £16 each.

Now, the more eagle-eyed will notice that the Frome date is part of the Frome Festival 2010 being held in the town and one of many that Mr Lakeman will be gracing his presence (and violin) with. He is also due to appear at the RIB Fest in Cowes IOW (8th May), Daphne du Maurier Fest in Fowey (18th May), the Shepley Spring Festival 2010 in Huddersfield (22nd May), Wychwood Music Festival 2010 (6th June), Cornbury Festival 2010 (4th July), Garforth Arts Fest (10th July), the wonderfully named Chagstock Music and Arts Festival 2010 in Chagford, Okehampton (17th July), Weyfest in Farnham (4th Sept) and finally (for the moment) London's Regent's Park Open Air Theatre bash on 5th Sept. I hope he's got a good organizer - reckon he might have to change his name to Dizzee Lakeman soon in honour of another festival Rascal!
