Following the recent releases of the album 'Plastic Beach' and it's rather resplendent single-in-tow, 'Stylo' (the one with the Bruce Willis video!), the virtual musical monkeys, Gorillaz have announced two very tasty looking gigs at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. They will take place on the 29th and 30th April and feature a whole host of guest stars in support, most of whom have appeared on the new album.
Tickets will go on sale on Friday 26th March at 9am for £45. Sounds like a lot of money? - read on and salivate.
The guest-line up will include Damon Albarn of course as well as Clash legends Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, Super Furryman Gruff Rhys, US hip-hop professor Mos Def, Mondays mainman Shaun Ryder, soul legend Bobby Womack and those original magic-number-crunchers De La Soul, as well as Kano, Bashy and Little Dragon. Chuck in an orchestra playing Arabic music and you have a serious contender for gig of the year!
There will also be a raft of designs and backdrops on show from Gorillaz' designer and Tank Girl illustrator, Jamie Hewlett. This is a real night of monkey magic, it has to be said.
Make sure your ticket-clicking fingers are ready and willing on Friday morning.
