a-ha to call it a day with Winter 2010 European Arena Tour - tickets: 25th Feb at midday

Posted: 14 years ago

Its time to get those hankies at the ready for 2010 is set to end on a sad note for fans of synthpop lords a-ha, and to be honest, that should be everyone with ears.

Yes, after 33 great years the Norwegian outfit are calling an end to their brilliant career with a farewell tour, which gladly incorporates ten UK shows. The UK leg of their tour starts at the Brighton Centre on November 15th before synthing-up Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Cardiff and Bournemouth before the apt final gig at Wembley Stadium on November 27th [hmm... I suspect a clutch of Wembley dates to be announced one the first one sells-out - Ed].

The group will forever be adored for 'Take On Me,' which is still one of the greatest pop singles of all time but have proved a versatile band over the years with far more in their cannon then anyone ever gave them credit for. Their last album 'Foot of the Mountain' is a thoroughly entertaining long player and could form the base of their final gigs, as well as a best of set for fans. Tickets for the shows go on sale Thursday 25th February at midday (High Noon), so if you want to be there get on this website then or soon after and click the links for these tickets may actually go faster than those famous hot cakes. Farewell a-ha, it's been great knowing you.
