Before I start I must notify all Darwinists - This is NOT an article about a weekend of semantically-charged discussions on the theory of evolution. Now that's out of the way it is with great excitement that I get to tell you of this year's Evolution Weekender, aptly named Evolution Weekender 2010 (now there's natural selection in action).
The fantastic festival takes over Newcastle and Gateshead during the Bank Holiday Weekend of Sunday May 30th and Monday May 31st and is set to bring people from all over the UK, and possibly further afield. The three venues of Spillers Wharf, Baltic Square and Ballast Hills will play host to more than fifty acts over the two days including Paulo Nutini, Calvin Harris, Tinchy Stryder, The Futureheads, The Unthanks, King Creosote, Enter Shakiri, De La Soul, Hadouken!, Donovan, I Blame Coco and my personal tip, Scratch Perverts.
That is just a sample of the diversity on offer and with tickets a complete bargain (£17.50 for one day, £25 for both, plus booking fee) it could be said you'd be mad to miss it. So if it sounds like your kind of fun why not take advantage of your opposable thumbs and click the links below to grab yourself a ticket. it's a Dar-win/win situation.
